Shoreline Cleanup!

Join us on World Oceans Day, June 8 at 10am at the Mahone Bay Civic Marina and help prevent plastic pollution from reaching the ocean. This year, we’re teaming up with Cape LaHave Adventures to provide volunteers with a post-clean up reward! Free kayak or stand up paddle rides on a first-come, first-served basis!

Generations Active Park Rain Gardens

Come join Coastal Action and the Town of Bridgewater to help construct two hybrid rain gardens at Generations Active Park Off-leash Dog Park in Bridgewater next week-October 4th and 5th.

Rain Barrel Construction Workshop

When? Sunday July 10th from 2pm to 5pm
Where? Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre

*Rain Date: July 17th 2pm to 5pm

 

Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation and Town of Bridgewater will be hosting a FREE 3-hour rain barrel building workshop at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre. Open to all. The program aims to give residents the equipment, tools, and training to build their own rain barrel, of which 15 will be available.

Donations needed:
Refreshments (cans of juice or jugs of water)

Volunteers needed:
We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to help the event run smoothly, ideally individuals that are comfortable using power tools such as drills.

Coastal Action now accepting applications for 2016 Bursary

image1Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation is once again accepting applications from graduating Grade 12 Lunenburg County students for the Dan MacPhail Memorial Bursary. Those students interested in furthering their education either at the University or College level in the environmental sciences should apply.
