Lunenburg Celebrates

Be A Tourist logoDid you hear? It’s the Town of Lunenburg’s 263rd Birthday and we’re going to celebrate in style!

On June 7-12, 2016, it’s your chance to be a tourist in your own town.  Residents and visitors alike will be able to celebrate, discover, and rediscover all the great things that Lunenburg has to offer.
Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation is pleased to be offering the following:

Friday, June 10th: 4th Annual Rum and Chowder Social from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  New for this year, the event will be at the Lunenburg Community Centre, Green Street, as the event has outgrown the Angus Walters House!  Join us for an evening of sampling various chowders donated by restaurants in the Town of Lunenburg and surrounding areas, rum (including Ironworks Distillery), a cake auction, ticket draw for local prizes, and lots of entertainment.  Tickets are $30 in advance available at the Coastal Action office located at 37 Tannery Road or on-line through PayPal, see Home Page for link ($4 service fee), or $35 at the door.  All proceeds go directly towards supporting our projects and programs.
Saturday, June 11th: We will be celebrating World Oceans Day at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic.  Come visit us at our outdoor display on the waterfront between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and learn about our different projects and programs.

Also, don’t forget to join us at 2:00 PM for a presentation on the endangered Atlantic Whitefish.  The presentation will be held in the theatre at the Fisheries Museum.
